How To Install Project Nevada With Fomm

Posted on

Hello, I plan to install Project Nevada as well as TTW, however I do not know. However, Project Nevada recommends I use FOMM rather than. Project Nevada wasn't properly installed:) If you did a manual install and forgot to follow step 3 in the guide above, this is what happens. To fix it, install Project Nevada properly as described in Section 3. Archive Invalidation is not activated. The recommended way of activating it is using FOMM, and enabling it in the Tools menu.

Installs a fake version of the games for windows live dllPrevents fallout from loading the real xlive.dll at all,Enables some extra code patching options that require disabling g4wl's hash checkingImproves program startup time, and possibly fpsDo not use if you use DLC or want achievementsAdditional code patching options can be accessed by clicking 'settings'The save games associated with g4wl profiles can still be accessed by clicking settings and using an offline profileOK search for a folder named itBackup. It should be in the FOMM folder that is ing ths fomm folder that is in the same folder as your Fallout3.exe file. Inside this folder if it exists should be a copy of the real xlive.dll. If this folder does not exist the copy of the xlive.dll in the folder with Fallout3.exe should be the working version. In the folder Bethesda softworks /fallout 3/ should be an xlive.dll and also in the sub-folder /fomm/fomm should be an xlive.dll.

Now if these two files are the same then there should be the folder itBackup. And if they are the same then you have the fake version applied.I tried the Tweaker and it is not being user friendly. I had to have the Folder Bethesda softworks / fallout 3/ fomm / fomm / open to see what was happening. Mine started with the Xlive enabled but I had used a differant aplication to disable it. FOMM did not know this.

Any way I has the box 'use fake.' Checked and clicked apply.

The message came 'Copying fake xlive.dllComplete' and the folder appeared Bethesda softworks / fallout 3/ fomm / fomm / itBackup/. Just as it should. Now the only way I got thing back using the tweaker was to click Reset. Then the folder disappears, itBackup, and the dll swaps back. But if you have ever deleted the folder Fallout 3 / Fomm / fomm while the real xlive Dll was in it it is probably lost. You will need to reinstall Games for windows live of find a safe up to date dll some where to get back the service.
